Halloween Musical Jack-O-Lanterns

First grade students have been working on drawing and recognizing musical symbols.

We display our Musical Pumpkin Patch in the hallway after the students create Jack-O-Lanterns

using music symbols as the face!!!

Hallway wall for everyone!!

I am soooooo excited about the music staff in my hallway at school. The caption is "Each of us a single note, together we create a masterpiece at DSE!" Each note has a student's name and each color is a different class. I am thinking I will leave it up the whole year as a teaching tool, but we will see how that goes.

Anchor charts

So... I'm not sure if anchor charts are for the students or serve as a visual reminder for me. I love the active listening one I made and can refer to to correct or redirect students, it hangs near where I stand in the room. The other chart reminds me what to have the kids look for when examining a new piece of music.
