Professional Performance

It truly is invaluable to continue to perform as an adult when teaching music. My summer playing/singing with the Pueblo Municipal Band on Sundays in the summer and our annual Christmas Concert remind me of my passion for music and why it is so important for children to learn and be exposed to quality music.  Because it is the director, Mark Emery's, favorite and I love to sing it, please enjoy a video of myself performing Merry Christmas Darling.

Hallway wall for everyone!!

I am soooooo excited about the music staff in my hallway at school.  The caption is "Each of us a single note, together we create a masterpiece at DSE!"  Each note has a student's name and each color is a different class.  I am thinking I will leave it up the whole year as a teaching tool, but we will see how that goes.

Anchor charts

So... I'm not sure if anchor charts are for the students or serve as a visual reminder for me.  I love the active listening one I made and can refer to to correct or redirect students, it hangs near where I stand in the room.  The other chart reminds me what to have the kids look for when examining a new piece of music.
