Keeping Up Our Craft

I perform on my flute and piccolo with the Pueblo Municipal Band. I have also become the vocalist for them this year! I have so much fun. There have been years that I did not have a musical outlet for myself other than in the classroom. I have so much more enthusiasm in my teaching when I can share my passion in another way. I encourage you all to keep performing!!!

Hallway wall for everyone!!

I am soooooo excited about the music staff in my hallway at school. The caption is "Each of us a single note, together we create a masterpiece at DSE!" Each note has a student's name and each color is a different class. I am thinking I will leave it up the whole year as a teaching tool, but we will see how that goes.

Anchor charts

So... I'm not sure if anchor charts are for the students or serve as a visual reminder for me. I love the active listening one I made and can refer to to correct or redirect students, it hangs near where I stand in the room. The other chart reminds me what to have the kids look for when examining a new piece of music.
